LA2 Lightning Arrester

The LA2 protects the complete load cell signal path with seven protected lines: +EXC, -EXC, +SENSE, -SENSE, +SIG, -SIG, and GND. Installed between the field wiring (IN) and the instrument side (OUT), it helps shield indicators, transmitters, and junction boxes from surge damage. Three M16 cable glands simplify cable entry, and the compact enclosure (144 x 142 x 44 mm) with a weight of approximately 0.8 kg makes it easy to mount close to the equipment being protected. An insulation resistance of at least 10 GΩ helps maintain signal integrity during normal operation.

Designed for systems where lightning-induced surges are a real risk, the LA2 is well suited to truck scales, tank and hopper weighing systems, conveyor belt scales, silo weighing, and other outdoor industrial weighing installations. The included ground wire is connected to the stainless steel enclosure and must be firmly connected to a proper earth ground for the surge protection to work as intended. Because the IP66 enclosure resists dust and water ingress, the LA2 is also suitable for washdown and harsh weather environments.
