Built-in lightning and over-voltage protection, a conformal coated circuit board, and a preinstalled GORE breather vent help the enclosure withstand harsh outdoor and industrial environments over the long term. Available in an excitation trim version (J04EP-E-D2) or a signal trim version (J04SP-E-D2), each weighing approximately 1.5 kg, the junction box includes an expansion port so an additional J-Box can be added when systems require more than 4 load cells.

Cable entry is handled through M20 fittings accepting 6-12 mm diameter cable on both the load cell and output sides, and the motherboard layout clearly separates load cell channels from the indicator and expansion connections for straightforward wiring and troubleshooting. Proper grounding is critical to reliable operation: the external grounding stud should be connected directly to earth ground for surge protection, and load cell cable shielding should run uninterrupted through the junction box, grounded only at the indicator to avoid ground loops. These junction boxes are well suited for platform scales, tank and hopper weighing, truck scales, and other multi-load-cell systems commonly found in industrial, agricultural, and bulk material handling facilities.
